Sergio Pascolo
Architect, urban designer, essayist, humanist, teacher of architectural and urban design.
Born in Udine, he studied in Venice at the IUAV University Institute of Architecture, where he met such great masters as Manfredo Tafuri, Gino Valle, Vittorio Gregotti. He graduated in 1984 with a Thesis on Architectural and Urban Design on the IBA areas of Berlin, supervisor Vittorio Gregotti (110 cum laude).
After graduating he worked with Gregotti Associati in Milan (1985-1993) designing as project leader, among many others, the Centro Cultural de Belém project in Lisbon. He has lived and worked in Portugal (Lisbon, 1989-1991) and in Germany (Hamburg, 1993-1997), maintaining close cultural and professional relationships with both cities and countries.
Sergio has been working for over 20 years on mixed-use, social, inclusive, and multigenerational housing and urban regeneration projects in Germany. The works of SERGIO PASCOLO ARCHITECTS have been published in multiple architectural magazines and books. They have also been awarded the “Architekturpreis Zukunft Wohnen – Future Living Award 2009” in the “Living in City” section, and the “German Design Award 2017 Special”.
He teaches Architectural and Urban Design as Adjunct Professor (Turin Polytechnic 2003-2005, and IUAV University of Venice since 2004) and regularly participates in international seminars, workshops, and conferences throughout Italy and Europe, and more recently in Asia and South America.
These collaborations have provided a platform for him to facilitate discussions on sustainable Architecture and Urban Development through sharing the results of his own extensive experience, research and projects.
