The Thinking Traveller was founded by Huw and Rossella Beaugié in 2002. Rossella is Sicilian, born and bred, and was passionate about her career as a cell biologist and just beginning a PhD in Paris when she met Huw, a Brit, and former automotive engineer (he'd spent six years in the industry based in Bologna, Italy) who was working in Paris following his MBA. They married in 2000, and later that year, during a rather too blissful November holiday in the Aeolian Islands, decided that they would like to spend more time in Sicily. After Rossella's successful PhD defence, they started Think Sicily, greeting their first clients in March 2002.
