Openstudio Architects

Openstudio is an international design practice engaged with architecture, furniture, landscapes and interiors. Based in London, we carry out projects throughout the world. We collaborate closely with our clients and other professionals to achieve design excellence; projects that have integrity and which are both beautiful and functional. Our work is spatially intelligent, immaculately detailed and constructed, and offers flexible use and adaptability.

Our buildings and spaces are both designed to respond to the immediate requirements of our clients, and can also change over time and through the movement of people within and through spaces.

We integrate landscape elements into the fabric of the building, creating hybrid structures which combine the permanence of construction with the fragility of planting. This design approach develops a visual language of sustainable architecture alongside the use of environmental technologies.

In our work we emphasize the importance of space, light and material. We believe that good design results from proportion, spatial and strategic planning, the pleasure of apparent simplicity, tactility of materials and elegance of detail. Our integrated approach to the design of architecture, interiors, landscapes and furniture, reflects our philosophy that the quality of an environment relies on design rigour, and the seamlessness of all aspects of a project.
