MdAA operates in the field of architectural design and services, concentrating on projects ranging from complex buildings of medium dimension, to interior design projects, street furniture, and various types of layouts – the latter involving not only the commercial sphere (fairs, stores, etc.) but, more importantly, projects directly relating to the cultural sphere (museums and other spaces fitted for art exhibitions, cultural events, etc.).

A great deal of attention is paid to providing the client with a well-rounded service – from coming up with a concept, to formulating the preliminary design and an in-depth executive development plan, and finally, seeing to all services involved in implementing the project. This last step entails selecting businesses to handle each phase, writing up contracts and other documentation, overseeing the work, and ensuring that the project stays on track in terms of both timeline and budget.

We make all of this possible by relying on our long-standing, tried and true relationships with leading studios that focus on the design of structures and systems. This cooperation has provided a basis for our skill in technical design. The perfect example is our mutual exchange of experience in competing for and taking on professional assignments in cooperation with the prestigious company Ove Arup & Partners.
All of these different experiences taken as a whole allow our company to provide high-quality, interdisciplinary services in a vast range of areas.

In addition, thanks to ongoing relations with the University of Rome “La Sapienza” (many members of our studio hold teaching positions within the Department of Architecture’s Industrial Design program), MdAA pursues lines of experimental research in DESIGN for different sectors, from products to communications, layouts to multi-media systems.

The studio was officially established in 1990 and consists of a team of professionals with specific work backgrounds, who, as previously mentioned, also cover different teaching roles for the university’s Industrial Design program.
Functioning as the studio’s leader Massimo d’Alessandro works alongside Partners, Paolo Pannocchi, Maria Cagnoni and Maurizio Cagnoni, to direct the studio’s business and coordinate the various projects.
