POOT Architecture seeks to conduct continuous research while building. We are fascinated by the tension between theoretical and social thinking, the translation of visions into architecture and everyday building reality.
Poot Architectuur is a relatively young firm that has, however, already built up a noteworthy portfolio. The employees each have their own qualities (scenography, urban planning, participation coordination, interior architecture, etc.) which are highly complementary. As a result, our projects vary in nature and size. Poot Architecture stands out above all for their very precise solutions on several scales. It is capable of honouring the small and the large, generating inventiveness at any time and the accumulation of this process leads to a very far-reaching and always high-quality product
Our field of work is broad and we always try to pursue this by continuing to work for private clients as well as working on public projects. From our extensive expertise in private commissions, we also want to make socially relevant work.We think about timelessness, regardless of trends and want to go further than simply sustainable and look for alternative solutions that restore and improve the natural and social environment.
POOT Architecture has already brought several complex and extensive assignments to a successful conclusion. Both for AG Vespa, for municipal authorities and for various school groups, and is currently included in several architect pools (Stad Gent, De Ideale Woning). The office has already been selected several times for Open Calls such as:“Open Oproep” and “Win Vorm” and has been a laureate several times. The team is currently working on three major school renovations in a dense urban context in Antwerp.
We also regularly collaborate with other designers. Together with Dries Otten we are working on the restyling of the public areas of Z33 and together with Schenk Hattori we are working on 2 residential neighbourhoods for people with disabilities in Sint Niklaas.
The work of POOT Architecture is regularly published at home and abroad and has already been published in the Flanders Architecture Yearbook.
A project by POOT Architecture was included in the Venice Biennale in 2021.
