A plot in the row is being built on for the first time.

In a street with mostly monotonous houses from the 1950s and 1960s, the rare bay windows are the only inspiring elements.

The design makes an interpretation of the typical aspects: the neutral red brick is used in vertical tile bond, the bay window is executed as a round shape.

Around the central oval staircase, the plan is organised: the living space is spread over 2 levels for different moments in the day: homework, reading, playing... A double-height kitchen on the street side gives a large dimension to the house and provides the connection between the different living spaces. In contrast, the sleeping quarters and an extra study emphasise seclusion and silence.

Een kavel in de rij wordt voor het eerst bebouwd.
In een straat met veelal monotone woningen uit de jaren ’50 en ’60, vormen de zeldzame erkers de enige inspirerende elementen.
Het ontwerp maakt een interpretatie van de typische aspecten: de neutrale rode baksteen wordt in verticaal tegelverband gebruikt, de erker wordt als ronde vorm uitgevoerd.
Rond de centrale ovalen trap wordt het plan georganiseerd: de leefruimte wordt over 2 niveaus verspreid voor verschillende momenten in de dag: thuiswerk, lezen, spelen,… Een dubbelhoge keuken aan de straatzijde geeft een grote maat aan de woning en zorgt voor de connectie tussen de verschillende leefruimtes. Bij de slaapvertrekken en een extra werkkamer daarentegen, ligt de nadruk op afzondering en stilte.
