OpenAir Studio
OpenAir Studio is an interior design firm based in Bangkok.
We create timeless and elegant architectural environments employing high quality materials and fine craftsmanship.
Our design philosophy is to create an optimal relationship between objects and space. We approach each project considering its own spatial needs, and construct a sculptural experience through it. Each work reveals a specific connection to the room, and its occupant. OpenAir is managed by Wit Chong. Wit has extensive professional experience in New York, Bangkok, and Chicago designing projects for major international clients. Wit has worked with the world renowned firms of YabuPushelberg and AvroKO on several hospitality projects including the Grand Hyatt Hotel, Moscow; The Oberoi Hotel, New Delhi; 41st Street Hotel, New York; Omido restaurant, New York; Social House restaurant, Las Vegas and the Grillroom at Intercontinental Hotel, Beijing. Wit’s recent projects include various retail concepts at ZEN, Central department store in Bangkok, model homes for SCG-HIEM in Bangkok, Amari Hotel in Bali Pecatu.
Wit holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Chulalongkorn University and Master of Fine Arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. His academic specialty was Interior Architecture at both schools. Wit was the SAIC’s nominee for the Schiff competition in 2006. He was selected to participate in the International Art and Architecture workshop with the Ecole d’Architecture Paris-Villemin and the International Idea competition in Braunschweig, Germany.
