Cosentino & Spanio

Nicola Cosentino and Stefano Spanio met each other on one such Friday, the 13th of March 1998 in Bern. The undiminished enthusiasm that the duo shares for formdesign, materials science and methods of construction stretches back to their early days of apprenticeship. During those days, inspiring projects of the 70’s such as the "I multipli" collection from Gufram, the "Knotted Chair" by Marcel Wanders or Ingo Maurer's lighting creations held their collective fascination. Eight years later, in 2006, after graduating together in Industrial and Product Design at the école cantonale d'art de Lausanne, the young designer's founded the design studio Cosentino & Spanio, based in Bern Switzerland. Since then, the two usually work together throughout the design processes, synergizing their diverse strengths. Foundation Prizes such as "Best Form 11", Design Nominations and Project exhibitions at various Expo’s in Switzerland, Italy and England confirm their collective functioning and achievements.
