This weekend, June 21–23, Dwell on Design, America's largest modern design event kicks off, with something for all design afficiodados. With over 400 exhibitors and over 2,000 products as well as a programme featuring over 200 speakers on three stages, there is something for everybody.

First up on the stage on Friday June 21st at 5 pm is Michael Graves, architect and designer, whose clients include BISAZZA Mosaico and DURAVIT. He will be talking about design and how his perspective and philosophy changed due to his life altering illness, as well as his love affair with Italy. To hear Graves discuss his thoughts on his career, his practice, and universal design:

His speech will be preceded by the DOD awards, the judges will spend the morning walking the floor of the show to find their favourites in ten categories Kitchen and Bath, Furniture, Outdoor, Modern Lifestyle, Design Materials, Sustainability, Lighting, New Product, Best Booth, and Best in Show.  And then the winners will be announced before Michael Graves takes to the stage.

On Saturday, June 22, the winners of the Los Angeles AIA/LA annual Restaurant Design Awards will be announced in the three categories: Restaurants – Café/Bar – Lounge/Nightclub.

Like European trade shows, DOD will be divided into different show zones Kitchen and Bath, Design and Materials, Furniture and Accessories and Technology. Exhibitors include Marimekko, Finnish, fabric, clothes and homeware manufacturers and Bathroom and Kitchen fixtures manufacturer HANSGROHE.

For social network addicts there will be the Pinterest Pavilion, where ten designers’ Pinterest boards come to life, and the Twitter Wall, where you can watch the Dwell on Design Tweets roll.

Archilovers and Archiproducts are media partners of the event.

Enjoy Dwell on Design!
