The designer Pia Wustenberg will take part in “Edit by designjunction” during Milan Design Week 2013 with the exhibition named ‘Transformed’ : a colourful collection of large stacking vessels that combine ceramic, glass and wood. This collection plays with our perception of familiar forms by the use of off-centred symmetry.
Stacking Vessels is a series of functional sculptures for the home. The Vessel consists of three individual containers which stack to form the overall shape. In the making process three crafts are combined to make one piece.
Pia Wustenberg was born in Germany. She grew up with dual nationality (Finnish mother, German father) and from an early age split her time between her two home countries. At the age of 15 she moved to England, Surrey for her final school years, followed by a foundation degree in Glass, Ceramic and Metal Design at Surrey Institute of Art and Design.
In 2011 Pia set up her own company ‘Utopia & Utility’ in London for the promotion and production of her crafted designs.
