The Metek architectural firm was formed in 2001 in New York and then transferred and established in 2004 in Paris.
Metek comes from the Greek word ‘meta’ meaning ‘among’ and ‘oikos’ meaning ‘the houses’, and ‘métèque’ signifying ‘foreigner living in a city’.
It is this duality that interests us: have the curiosity and critical detachment of a foreigner while having the intimate knowledge of locations of a resident.
