Like a sound blotter, this mike – shaped clock picks up and records the sounds of its environment all day long. When its yellow base is not visible, it is in OFF position ; it records every sound activities above 50 decibels. In the evening, the alarm clock is engaged by a simple pressure, liberating its yellow base and therefore indicating the ON position. In the morning, whether it is micro samples or bits of conversations, recordings picked up the day before are retranscribed in a way close to the granular synthesis – explored by the composer Pierre Henry in the seventies – gradually increasing in lenght, frequency and volume. The bell which comes out, always different, then creates an auditory recollection of our past day and gradually replaces us into reality.
