Suite Ibiza Gran Hotel

Ibiza Gran Hotel commissioned Sandra Tarruella Interioristas to remodel the Gran Suite Dalt Vila.

We were, of course, inspired by Dalt Vila (the old town), due to the beauty of its views towards its surroundings. The color range of its stone finish walls, the whiteness of its houses and the green tone of the water are the starting point for choosing the materials for the floor, walls, and swimming pool.

For the flooring we chose a gray Binissalem stone. This material extends throughout the suite, both inside, including the bathrooms, and terrace. Its color is reminiscent of sand and its aged bush-hammered finish provides a velvety sensation to the touch, inviting guests to walk barefooted and enjoy the experience.

Walls were painted with an off-white lime paint, referencing the local architecture and providing a richer, traditional and special texture to the place.

Inside this new layout proposal, there is a large suite room, an exposed bathtub and washbasin, and the toilet and Turkish bath located in enclosed cabins. Both the flooring and walls were finished in natural stone.  In addition, an open wardrobe was designed in natural oak wood.

Both living and dining room face the terrace and Dalt Vila. The spaciousness of the room has allowed the team of Sandra Tarruella, Blanca Comín and Nuria Martinez, to design custom pieces that integrate perfectly while maintaining balanced proportions, to create a natural Mediterranean serene luxury ambience. We also combined furniture pieces designed especially for the project, such as an enamelled lava table, or the mirrored mini bar in brass, and including iconic designs, such as the Spanish Chair by Fredericia. These elements make a harmonious contrast with the cladded walls in oak wood.

On the outdoors, we designed a terrace layout with three ambiences: dining room, chill out area and swimming pool. One of the key features of the project was the infinity pool, where we placed the pool in a strategic position facing towards the Dalt Vila, and using different volumes to allow it to blur with the surroundings and be well balanced. These volumes become seats, planters, steps and pots with vegetation.

Art is an identifying hallmark of the hotel. The Gran Suite Dalt Vila houses two works of art: a set of pure red clay pieces with a honey glaze finish by artisan Pere Coll and the Color Concrete Iconic Sculpture by Franco Monti.
