Located in the seaside town of Milano Marittima, a few kilometers from the city of Ravenna, the project involves the demolition of two existing buildings and the reconstruction of a single-family villa on two levels.

Through an interplay of perforations on the main elevations of the building, large glass curtain walls give the interior spaces a continuous dialogue with the outside. The new building, with south-north main exposition, takes advantage of the openings to benefit the most from passive solar radiation and ventilation.

The heart of the house is located at the center of the layout, so as to maximize the limited depth of the lot by creating a fluid large space with glass windows open on the two sides with outdoor areas. On the side facing south the swimming pool and sunbathing area are placed, while on the north side the outdoor dining area maintains the necessary shading even in the warmest seasons.

The upper floor hosts the three bedrooms, connected by a glazed corridor surrounded by a double row of vegetation that, like a path in a natural gallery, accompanies to the areas dedicated to rest.

The landscape is completely integrated into the house, it penetrates into the interior spaces blurring the limits of the built with the unbuilt. The three existing century-old pine trees become part of the building itself, perforating the slab floors and turning into parts of the interior, as if they were natural pillars supporting the house.
