CEDERNA’S FORMER COTTON MILL CONTEST
The project for the requalification of part of the former cotton mill “Cederna” basically suggests a group of buildings and open spaces, some existing and others to be built, connected to each other by a new supporting line, an actual foyer-street made in a dynamic and flexible way, so that it can take advantage of the planned features: an ethnological musuem, a social and cultural centre, a meeting room, a bar and some other accessory areas, a courtyard, the square, the park and an underground and overground parking spots.
The new system including both buildings and open spaces leaves the old cotton mill’s structure untouched, revisiting it through a contemporary architectural language, and inspiring the construction of an actual widespread museum.
