CIVIC CENTRE CONTEST
The main intention of the project for the expansion of the civic centre was to change the general system of open areas. In contrast with the “C”-configuration closed on itself, the project was to remove something (the colonnade part) therefore opening the entire area beyond the parking, directly to the park. Inside the green area, the building expansion develops, as requested for the civic centre containing the bar (moved from its previous location) and the theatre-cinema. The new group of buildings revolves around a public-use area, implying the use of the structure in total interaction with theenvironment.
We chose to keep a strong separation along Gere Street, with a solid and linear front. The new system part also opens towards the mountains North of the area, and in direct contact with the sport-oriented areas.
