RUNNER-UP EUROPEAN 7 PRIZE "IN" SUBURBS - ABOUT URBAN INTENSITY AND RESIDENTIAL DIVERSITY with Arch. Borin Daniele

Transforming part of the territory absorbing and reacting to social differences, offering through a urban "mending" operation (GRAFFA) the chance to fight the growing model of long-distance-city in favor of a new urban texture: a platform conceived to respond to the need of proximity and neighborhood in social life (sport, culture, work...) while being at the same time a useful connection to the interchanges with the neighboring entities.

An ignored element of the area (the railway), despite its central position, able to bring back together previously detached parts, totally abandoned in spite of their value and potentialities;

a building area, strategic for the city's dynamics, acting as "bridge" and middle-earth to parts of the city previously unconnected and not communicating; a concept of aerial space construction, dynamic areas in between earth and sky.

A local system acting as a base for residential, commercial, cultural, natural, industrial and entertainment themes, solving the multitude of daily needs without having to drive a car.
