Heiss Fenster exhibition stand | monovolume architecture + design

An exhibition stand designed by reflecting on the pliability of wood, the first noble material of which window frames are made. The craftsmanship of Heiss Fenster inflects the traditional frame itself, generating a boundless dynamic wave that exudes beyond the stand. The design proposes an open spatial continuity that welcomes visitors on a journey into three-dimensionality and materiality through a 1:1 scale display of the company's iconic window frames.

The project is characterized by the sequence and structure of multiple sectioned wooden curves that expand from the bottom to the top and vice versa, designing a sinuous and organic display, consisting of a hollowed-out parallelepiped that breaks with the traditional concept of an exhibition stand. The design choice aims to reinterpret the approach of traditional craftsmanship in a contemporary manner through the use of wooden slats in light and dark shades. The signs of harmony and rhythm of the stand is provided by the many curves, arranged in sequence as they "slice" the space into a natural and eclectic composition. The theme of encounter can be found in the heart of the stand, between the floor and the ceiling and the concave and convex forms that descend and ascend, coagulating to a traditional cross window, which by rotating allows the visitor to observe it from different perspectives and to grasp the depth of the threshold.

The exhibition space includes an open contact area and the display of two sliding windows, which combine together in a continuous space devoid of corners and edges. The alternation between the rigidity of the frames and the soft effect of the wooden curves create a perfect rhythmic balance. The entire project was carried out under the banner of sustainability: from the design, to the choice of materials, to the assembly and its disassembly, which results in a reversible installation that can be reused in the future.

Schwebende Kurven
Ein Ausstellungsstand, der die Dehnbarkeit von Holz, dem ersten edlen Material, aus dem Fensterrahmen hergestellt werden, reflektiert. Die Handwerkskunst von Heiss Fenster beugt sich dem traditionellen Rahmen und erzeugt eine grenzenlose dynamische Welle, die über den Stand hinaus strahlt. Der Entwurf sieht eine offene räumliche Kontinuität vor, die den Besucher auf eine Reise in die Dreidimensionalität und Materialität einlädt, indem die ikonischen Fensterrahmen des Unternehmens im Maßstab 1:1 gezeigt werden.

Das Projekt zeichnet sich durch die Abfolge und Struktur von mehrfach gegliederten Holzkurven aus, die sich von unten nach oben und umgekehrt ausdehnen und so einen gewundenen und organischen Stand schafft. Dieser bricht mit dem traditionellen Konzept eines Messestandes, da er aus einem ausgehöhlten Parallelepiped besteht. Die Wahl des Designs zielt darauf ab, das Thema der traditionellen Handwerkskunst durch die Verwendung von Holzlatten in hellen und dunklen Tönen auf zeitgemäße Weise neu zu interpretieren. Die Zeichen der Harmonie und des Rhythmus des Standes werden durch die vielen Kurven gesetzt, die in einer Reihe angeordnet sind und den Raum in eine natürliche und eklektische Komposition "zerschneiden".
Das Thema der Begegnung befindet sich im Herzen des Standes, zwischen dem Boden und der hellen Decke und den gewölbten und gebogenen Formen, die sich abwärts und aufwärts bewegen und zu einem traditionellen Kreuzfenster werden.
Dieses erlaubt dem Besucher durch Drehen, es aus verschiedenen Perspektiven zu betrachten und die Tiefe der Schwelle zu erfassen.

Der Ausstellungsraum umfasst eine offene Kontaktfläche und zwei Schiebefenster, die sich zu einem durchgehenden Raum ohne Ecken und Kanten zusammenfügen. Der Wechsel zwischen der Starrheit der Rahmen und der weichen Wirkung der hölzernen Rundungen schafft ein perfektes rhythmisches Gleichgewicht. Das gesamte Projekt steht unter dem Gesichtspunkt der Nachhaltigkeit: vom Entwurf über die Auswahl der Materialien bis hin zum Auf- und Abbau, so dass eine reversible Installation entstanden ist, die in Zukunft wiederverwendet werden kann.

Pieghe sospese

Uno stand fieristico ideato riflettendo sulla duttilità del legno il primo nobile materiale di cui sono costituiti i telai delle finestre: l’artigianalità di Heiss Fenster, la cornice tradizionale si inflette generando una onda dinamica senza confini che esonda oltre lo stand. Il progetto di exhibit design propone una continuità spaziale aperta che accoglie i visitatori in un viaggio nella tridimensionalità e nella matericità, attraverso l’esposizione in scala 1:1 degli infissi iconici aziendali.

Il progetto si caratterizza per la sequenza e la struttura di molteplici pieghe sezionate che si espandono dal basso verso l’alto e viceversa, disegnando uno stand sinuoso ed organico, in grado di rompere con il tradizione concetto di stand fieristico, costituito da un parallelepipedo scavato. La scelta progettuale vuole reinterpretare il tema dell’artigianato tradizionale in un carattere contemporaneo grazie l’utilizzo di lamelle in legno in tonalità chiara e scura. Il segno di armonia e ritmo dello stand è dato dalle molte curve intagliate, disposte in sequenza “affettano” lo spazio in una composizione naturale ed eclettica.
Nel cuore dello stand, il tema dell’incontro, tra la pavimentazione e il soffitto chiaro, tra le pieghe che scendo e le pieghe che salgono, tra le forme concave e le forme convesse, coagula in una finestra a crociera tradizionale, che ruotando permette al visitatore di osservarla da diverse prospettive ed é inoltre in grado di cogliere la profondità della soglia.

Lo spazio espositivo comprende un’area contatti aperta e l’esposizione di due finestre scorrevoli, che si combinano insieme in uno spazio continuo privo di angoli e spigoli. L’alternanza tra la rigidità degli infissi e l’effetto morbido delle pieghe creano un perfetto equilibrio ritmico. Tutto il progetto si è svolto all’insegna della sostenibilità: dalla progettazione, alla scelta dei materiali, al montaggio e al suo disallestimento che risulta una installazione reversibile e riutilizzabile anche in futuro.
