Il marchio americano Gymboree Play & Music - diffuso in tutto il mondo, e in particolar modo in Asia - propone corsi per neonati, genitori e bambini fino a 6 anni, con l’obiettivo di svilupparne le capacità cognitive e relazionali già nella prima infanzia, attraverso attività ludiche basate sull’ascolto di musica, lezioni d’arte e momenti di gioco.

Per tradurre nel linguaggio dell’architettura la filosofia che caratterizza il metodo educativo Gymboree,  il concept disegna un luogo accogliente e stimolante, capace di risvegliare la curiosità dei bambini, favorendone anche l’apprendimento. Gli spazi sono pensati per interpretare, attraverso forme, colori e materiali, il tema del “viaggio” con le diverse aree che ricreano ambienti differenti: l’oceano, la foresta, il deserto, l’artico, il canyon e lo spazio. Senza uscire dalle loro aule potranno riposarsi all’ombra di un albero nel mezzo della foresta; immergersi sott'acqua insieme agli abitanti dell’oceano, correre su e giù per le dune fino a raggiungere un’oasi nel deserto.

The American brand Gymboree Play & Music– with 700 centres in more than 40 countries around world - offers courses for infants and children up to the age of 6, with the aim of developing their cognitive and relational skills in early childhood, through play activities based on listening to music, art classes, group activities and problem solving games.

To translate Gymboree’s educational philosophy into architectural language, the architects have come up with the concept of the four schools - two in Shenzhen and two in Suzhou - that interpret the theme of "travel" through shapes, colours and materials, with several areas recreating different environments: the ocean, the forest, the desert, the Arctic, the canyon and space. A magical, dreamlike context stimulates the children to use their imagination to live unique experiences and visit unknown worlds.
