In 2009 over lunch with the Mayor of Alcudia, Peter Worthington was persuaded to take a look at an ancient property in the centre of the Old Town of Alcudia, which the Mayor believed had potential to be renovated into an outstanding and iconic Petit Hotel. A short walk form the Town Hall across the main square found the house nestled at the end of the Career De La Quartera. The site had originally been a Manor House for a prominent local family which dated back to the 15th Century. The house had fallen into disrepair with some parts empty for over 300 years, and locals recalling its last use as a butchers shop some 30 years ago. The central body of the house featured a tower thought to date back to 1467 and a stone wine vat which predates the house. There was also a very impressive central courtyard which sits 20 metres below street level, although this was almost full with three hundred years worth of bricks, roof slates and general rubble along with several hundred nesting pigeons.

A second visit with Mark Worthington a month later, and the deal was agreed with the Mayor to acquire the site and the work commenced in early 2010.

It took a year to clear the rubble and the pigeons, and a further year to make the site safe. There had been no access to the tower rooms in living memory, so once scaffolding was in place expert contractors could begin the painstaking work to renovate the stone work and refurbish the gothic architecture. All of the work has been overseen by family friend and developer David Riutort and his business partner Toni Perez, with David's cousin completing all of the architectural design works. The local Balearic council have been involved throughout with their Archeological team making sure that all of the restoration work has been completed to the highest standards.

The key features of the site are what make this unique. The tower, gothic stonework, stone arch, basement wine vat and below ground courtyard have made the project special for all of those who have worked on it and the result is a Boutique Hotel which remains true to the original House with a feeling of tranquil beauty.
