The project start from a socio-economical point of view of the territory of the city of Tallinn. After a narrow overview of all the potential of the urban competition area, it has been tried to create a building that is an expression of the new urban reality that is coming up in the area. Keeping in mind the peculiar function that the building has to meet. In according with what has been asked for in this competition, we have taken in consideration fundamental aspects for the future growth of the Estonian Academy of Art.
The project wants to create on one side a architecture of great impact and on the other side give the users a functional quality space for the more complex administration services, and with this conciliate the new movement with the academic structure.

The building is put in the place following the indications of the competition, respecting the urban areas where it is put, creating a qualification of aggregation and creating a immediate identity. Because of this we thought it was needed a clear exposition, that translate itself in to a immediate perception of the places and the functions., in the division of the walkways, of the aggregation areas and in the separated entrances to the building that makes more movements possible at the same time.
A not secondary aspect is the importance of affirming the institutional identity of the building , the fact that it is recognized as an important element in the urban environment.
From a distribution point of view we have tried to respect the indications of the competition structuring the spaces of the varies faculties in so a way to obtain the maximal flexibility of the spaces and giving great thought about the communication between the students of the different faculties. The access to the public is been studied in such a way that different uses of the building in different moments of the day can easily be made, 24 hours of the day.
The formal and technological solutions that has chosen are been made to confirm the principle of maximal sustainability in the materials and in the localization an the dimensions of the rooms that contain the technical equipment.
