I am a master hand knitter. For this project I used traditional German lace knitting (Kunststricken) and patterns in an intersection between interior architecture, sculpture, and lighting design. My focus was to extend the tradition of lace knitting with new and contemporary applications. With this and following projects I like to present the beauty of lace patterns to a wider audience, than a conventional application in clothing can. The light is hand knitted with cotton, shaped and hardened. It is made of 2 identical half round pieces showing a floral design. It is mounted on a wooden base with a 60 W 120 degree light source. The light measures 30 wide and 90 cm high.
