Wieneke Van Gemeren
Born in the Netherlands in 1963, Wieneke van Gemeren studied graphic arts and painting at the Rotterdam Art Academy. She then founded her own design company and began her professional career specializing in set-design, styling and model making. The company quickly established a following for it's eye-catching window displays and imaginative set-designs and van Gemeren was offered the opportunity of initiating Diesel's Interior Design department at the company's corporate headquarters in Italy. During eight years with Diesel, she was instrumental in creating the company's highly successful global retail image and completed over one hundred large-scale projects worldwide, including the concept and design development for The Carlyle Hotel, Miami Beach, of Diesel owner Renzo Rosso. In 2002 van Gemeren decided it was time for a new challenge and started working as a free-lance designer. She now has a broad variety of international clients, including De Castelli, the Sixty Group, Bacardi, the Rotterdam Historical Museum and various Italian and international furniture brands.
