In addition to having been the in-house designer at SELVA since 1984, Tiziano Bistaffa fulfills the duties as head of the company’s Design and Development office. For that reason, his products – the fruit of his passion and experience – embody the company history in a special way. Drawn by the passion for his work, he seizes every opportunity to be able to experiment with styles, materials, and finishes differing from each other to work out a harmonious whole amidst diversity. His products line came from leafing through the “pages of the past”, as he describes it. It is not just that the past helps to remind us who we are and where we come from; it also provides the possibility of understanding bygone eras but which have nevertheless left us a sign over time. Classic lines that are reinterpreted from a modern angle. In his opinion, a piece of furniture has to succeed in containing a series of aspects which, in true balance, do not just create a product that is surprising for those who observe it, but can also be integrated into completely different settings, creating a mix of styles and emotions. The meeting between traditions of the past and possibilities offered by the present leads to an object that is complete in every sense. In addition to the design, their value lies in the complexity of the craftsmanship, which exalts the detail in production and allows the highlighting of the classic tradition and the heritage of the cabinetmaker experience.
