Thomas was born in Rekem on the 17th of January 1965. He studied Industrial Design at the Urban Higher Institute for Communication and Design in Genk from 1984 to 1989. He then started as a junior designer at the Veldeman Group. From 1997 onwards he worked as a designer at Recor Bedding, and later for Recor Group, where he designed the collections of Sofa Bed and Belform. In 1999 he started his own bvba Smart Line, and he currently works as an independent designer for the Recor Group.
