Graduated from ENSA La Villette in 2010 after a licence degree in Marseille, France, Aurore began her practice as project manager in chilean office BordeUrbano, specialized in social and collective housing. There she managed the construction of 150 housing units made for some native indigenous communities in Villa Alemana, Region de Valparaiso, while making first steps on her own by planning the first phase of 12th century old chapel Saint-Jean’s restauration in Moustiers-Sainte-Marie, France.

Alejandro Flores (b. 1986)
Architectural master degree (2012) from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso, Chile, one-year master in Architecture at AHO (Oslo, Norway, 2010), post-master studies on Para-seismic Construction from ENSA Marseille (2015), Alejandro has begun his architectural path working as architect in chief on small private commissions projects adapted to the southern Chilean environment, before stablishing Atelier AMASA in 2017 with partner Aurore Schaeffer in the small town of Barcelonnette in the southern Alps.
Since 2016 they are stablished in the mountain town of Barcelonnette, Ubaye Valley in France where they assume private and since recently some public commissions. From there they have found fertile ground to explore and expands local constructive traditions, composing in dialogue with the existent richness of a given social context while adding unexpected materiality and spatial responses. Together they have worked on the overhaul of a kid’s room with adapted furniture design, the restauration and extension of a 12th century old chapel, office spaces and residential projects in both rural and urban contexts, mostly with high heritage constraints. Ongoing projects includes new nursery spaces for several villages around Ubaye Valley, the rearrangement of public spaces for the town of Faucon-de-Barcelonnette, a CLT housing project with high performance building standards.
