PLY+ Architecture

PLY+ is an architecture practice dedicated to design excellence. Founded in 1999 as PLY and reimagined under the new partnership of Craig Borum and Jen Maigret in 2018, PLY+ emphasizes the integral roles of design research and collaboration in supporting communities to enhance their built environment through design. PLY+ has developed an approach that combines rigorous research and creative invention. This approach has yielded success across a wide range of project types. We pay close attention to material fabrication, assembly and detailing. These priorities yield projects that deliver a rich experience of spaces and an identity unique to each building.
PLY+/PLY has completed over 100 built projects of varying scale and complexity. These projects have been recognized by the profession and academy. In 2021, The Architectural League of New York awarded PLY+ with its annual Emerging Voices Award. The award spotlights eight North American individuals and firms with distinct design voices that have the potential to influence the disciplines of architecture, landscape architecture, and urban design. The jury reviews significant bodies of realized work and considers accomplishments within design and academia. Additionally, our work has earned a p/a Awards citation, and an R+D Award from Architect Magazine, a Best of Design Award from Architects Newspaper, an American Architecture Award from the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design, 16 AIA Honor Awards, a Masonry Design Award, a Wood Design Award, among others.
