Anya Moryoussef Architect
Architecture Firm Toronto / Canada
Founded in 2016, AMA / Anya Moryoussef Architect is an award-winning, woman-led studio based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. AMA is dedicated to the application of empathetic design in architecture and city building at a fine grain. They frame their approach as a combination of archeology and anthropology - equal parts recognition, renewal, and bold, imaginative reinvention - and believe that sensitively observing things as they are is the first step in imagining what they might be.
Anya Moryoussef (BES, M.Arch, OAA, MRAIC), a licensed architect and educator. Her work has received significant local and international recognition, including the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada Emerging Architect Award (2021), Twenty + Change Emerging Talent (2022), Wallpaper* Architect's Directory (2023) and AN Interior's Top 50 Architects (2023). She sits on the faculties of the Universities of Toronto and Waterloo, and previously taught at the Bergen Arkitektskole in Norway.
