B+A is an architecture office based in Paris and dedicated to useful art, a craft of space, light and correlation. offering a localized narrative, marking out the path between statement and reality, innovating through practice, defining the essential through dialogue, establishing the possibilities in regard of the available means - these are the cornerstones of our approach.

We are a team of experienced architects with multiple skills, a shared interest in the observation of the evolutions of our practice and the constant changes of our living environment.
Driven by a desire for architecture, B+A works on both private and public projects, on new buildings and renovations. Since the establishment in 2005, public contracting authorities, developers and engineers rely on the office, whose managing partners Michael Fellmann and Yvan Icart are known for their involvement, their commitment at every stage and their ability to meet the expectations.

The two managing partners work alongside their team, remaining close to the field in order to maintain an accurate view on all stages of the design and the works. The Courthouse of Poitiers, the Chaillot Theatre, the Le Blan Lafont Factory in Lille and the University of Paris 7 Diderot are their most representative projects.

For B+A, designing and building is like reading between the lines, exploring every gap and slit and turning them into means of expression. To build is to set up and anchor, to grow and put down roots, it’s the expression of a future life based on experience, imagining the moments that will be lived in a space yet to be.

When we stand in front of a school, a courthouse, a theatre, it is always important to take a step back and watch the people "inhabit" the place and express themselves as naturally and freely as possible. At B+A, we build the possibilities of a unique encounter.

B+A believes in collective intelligence. All architects are committed to their mission on the long term. At the office, everyone is free to express themselves on all projects. We encourage autonomy and responsibility and our teams remain close to the field and the construction site in order to maintain a critical eye all the way from the first sketch to delivery. All architects at B+A are multi-skilled and involved in every aspects of the project. They maintain a transversal view of the process of building. To Michael and Yvan it is important to remain project managers alongside their teams, in order to keep a real insight into the changes of the field.
