SowdenLight is the new brand of George Sowden and his team for the research and development of new ideas in lighting: some of their projects are very technical, but others like Shades are more decorative. Starting from research and working on the definition of the project idea, they develop the engineering, production organization and distribution of their projects. Shades is a collection of lamps with multiple configuration possibilities, thanks to the modularity of its silicone components, a material with bright colors, resistant and washable.

Shades: SowdenLight's silicone lamps

The Shades lamp collection includes suspension, table and floor models and a wireless family suitable for both indoor and outdoor spaces. The idea took shape in 2020 when George Sowden and his team discovered the extraordinary potential and ability to diffuse light through silicone, a non-toxic, easy-to-clean and impact-resistant material, able to keep its aesthetic qualities intact over time without showing signs of aging. SowdenLight have therefore developed simple shapes and a choice of colors which, when assembled, give life to the multiple configurations of the collection. The silicone characterizes the product that can be appreciated even when switched off. To confirm the quality of the project, Shades has entered the selection of objects for sale at the MoMa Design Store, the online shop of the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
