PlayWood makes furniture and accessories for home and offices that are eco-friendly, recyclable, and coming from renewable sources. PlayWood was created to offer a more sustainable approach to disposable furniture and to meet the flexibility needs of modern life. PlayWood designs following the principles of Ecodesign: they believe that furniture must be made to last. For this reason, each piece of furniture is modular and easily transportable. In this way, it can be easily modified to obtain multiple configurations. PlayWood products are of high quality, the result of work, done with passion and respect for tradition, by expert craftsmen.

The history of PlayWood

PlayWood was founded in Reggio Emilia in Italy in 2016, with the ambition to make sustainable furniture that are beautiful, useful and durable. PlayWood® Connectors are the first product created, an assembly system that allows you to transform simple wooden boards and panels into a piece of furniture, with the same simplicity of a construction toy. In 2020 the furniture lines are born: durable furniture, designed with care and quality and with particular attention to the environmental impact.

In Europe, furniture waste has grown 2.5 times the rate of families growth since 1960. Mass market furniture is not designed to be disassembled, transported and reused, in a hectic life that leads to moving and changing your needs for work or study reasons and this translates into disposable consumption. The company's core value is to innovate furniture to offer a product that has a longer life cycle with minimal ecological impact.
