Architectural bureau Substance was established in 1999. Since then we have acquired significant experience in architectural design of public, residential and industrial building. Each work starts with thorough research of the specific task, identification of several directions for the solution and using different methods for testing the proposals. However, our architecture is valued most for its ability to deliver the idea and transmit feelings clearly, thus enebling observers to feel them too.
Substance has received awards for the best design in several Latvian Annual Architecture Prize competitions. Works of the bureau were shortlisted for the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture Mies van der Rohe award and the Russian Architecture award ARHIP. Substance’s projects have been widely published in international architectural press.
