The Suar wood

Conte Caserta only uses suar wood for its table tops. The Suar wood comes from a species of acacia with the scientific name Samanea Saman. Due to the uniform climatic conditions, tropical woods like the rain tree do not develop any visible annual rings. This makes the wood much more robust against cracking than e.g. Wood from Central Europe.
Conte Caserta sources its used and certified wood exclusively in Thailand. The wood is certified by the Royal Thai Forestry Authority if the origin of the wood has been proven and permission for felling has been granted. On request, Conte Caserta will provide its customers with a copy of the certificate for the furniture they have purchased. A solid wooden table by Conte Caserta will last for generations. Even after many years of use, the surface can be restored to new condition in just a few simple steps. Therefore, buying a Conte Caserta table is a sensible investment from both an ecological and an economic perspective.

The products of Conte Caserta

The Conte Caserta collection includes dining and work tables in standard lengths of 220, 240, 260, 280, 300 and 320 cm. In addition, any length up to 10 meters can be ordered in advance of the availability. The tables can be supplied with sanded edges or, if required, in their grown shape with natural edges.There are bases in different designs for the table leaves. Designed by top European designers, they match current fashion trends. When it comes to quality standards, Conte Caserta relies on the highest quality, both in terms of material and workmanship, as with the table tops. The base frames can be adjusted in height to counteract unevenness in the floor covering. Any cracks and natural holes in the wood are visually enhanced if necessary and then filled with crystal clear synthetic resin so called epoxy. The story of Conte Caserta

A few years ago, the founder of Conte Caserta was searching for a dining table for his own apartment. In a German furniture shop he came across, for the first time, a table made from Suar wood. He was immediately fascinated by the grain of the wood, unfortunately, the finishing of the tabletop was not of the quality that was desired. When traveling through Southeast Asia he once again happened upon this unique material in Northern Thailand. Still fascinated by the wood the idea for Conte Caserta furniture was born and Chiang Mai, which is known as the city of Thai handicraft has been chosen as the head office location. Today Conte Caserta manufactures the exact furniture that the founder for himself, searched for years ago and yet never found. Now he is proud of the high quality tables produced by the experienced and passionate craftsmen.” Drawing its name from one of the largest and most magnificent castles in Europe - the Palace of Caserta - Conte Caserta is driven by a shared principle of luxury and quality.

Skid family and table top

The unlimited imagination of nature and its impressive variety of patterns is reflected in our table tops. No two are alike and each is intrinsically beautiful. Our elegant wood slabs exude a cool composure yet fill the room with their presence. The choice of a natural edge or a straight-cut edge is a matter of personal taste and the style of the customer. Table tops with a straight-cut edge are trimmed as standard on the long sides in a 135-degree angle. This treatment leads the massive plates to appear light and delicate. Table leaves with a natural edge, on the other hand, appear more robust. Our table tops in lengths of 220cm to 320cm are available in a standard width of 100 cm. Lengths up to 10 meters and a width up to 180 cm can be manufactured upon request. What makes the desk tables so irresistible is the contrast between the materials, where cool, metallic skids meet the warm thoosing of the wood. Complementing mid-century, modern or purist furnishings, skid frames are always eye-catching and impress with their practicality. Our skid frames are available in any configuration of right angled, narrow or wide, V- or U- shaped, and stainless steel or powder coated.
