We start any project by considering three factors: the intended function of the building, the context, and the nature and particular requirements of the client. These combine differently in every case and call for a fresh and individual choice of materials, techniques and structural shapes and forms.
We use models, sketches and drawings, and computer-generated visualisations to test our ideas and to communicate them to the client. We tackle the overall design and work down to the details, but then go back from the small-scale to the large-scale in a cyclical process. Thus all parts of the design are woven into an integrated whole – from the urban scale down to the building detail.
Working in this way we are not tied down by preconceived concepts or styles. Our architecture is thought out afresh every time.
It is our aim to create memorable places which impress through the use of material, space and light.
