Mattiussi Ecologia is the company that has changed the approach to designing containers for sorted waste collection. This passion for design has been applied as well to such unconventional fields as ecology and the circular economy, where design is almost unknown. Mattiussi Ecologia has always tried to look at this aspect in a completely different way, introducing the concept of design—in addition to functionality and ergonomics—to its products, in order to educate individuals and communities about respecting nature and the environment. A passion day after day that pushes us to think outside of the box.

Mattiussi Ecologia: setting the trends in recycling and presorting waste since 1983

Our story has taken us on a path full of new ideas and innovative solutions. Mattiussi Ecologia was founded in 1983 by Valter Mattiussi because of his great respect for the environment and his passion in creating aesthetically pleasing products. Since then, the company has collaborated with various successful designers, in an industry where this type of synergistic partnership was almost unknown.

When design meets recycling

It is thanks to these types of relationships that two of our products were recognized by the ADI Design Index – COMPOSTER 660, designed by Decoma Design for home composting, and OLIMAX, a presorting bin for the collection of used kitchen oil designed by Luisangelo Cozza. What’s more, the NX 01 for under-desk recycling in the office, won the Green Good Design Award in 2015.
These sorted-waste containers are meant to make recycling easy, with tools that have become necessary in our daily lives for all of us. Different containers in terms of capacity, form and functionality, always with a focus on design.
