On August 15, 2022 Bornstein Lyckefors changed name to Olsson Lyckefors Arkitektur.
The studio was founded in 2012 by Andreas Lyckefors and Per Bornstein, shortly followed by Johan Olsson as a third partner. For a decade now the studio has been persistent in producing award winning architecture and since October 2020 it has been headed by Johan Olsson and Andreas Lyckefors after Per Bornstein undramatically left the company.
The duo first met as students at Chalmers School of Architecture in Gothenburg, Sweden, and subsequently continued master studies in Holland at the universities in Eindhoven and Delft. Lyckefors stayed behind working as an intern at the OMA before returning to Sweden joining Olsson to collaborate on their final exam. Before founding the business, they both taught at Chalmers School of Architecture.
Olsson Lyckefors Arkitektur is based in Sweden, with offices in Stockholm and Gothenburg consisting of 36 architects, interior designers, and project managers. The projects range from smaller scale private houses, interior architecture, and product design to large scale architectural projects, primarily in commercial spaces, offices, housing, and public buildings.
Rooted in the north, Olsson Lyckefors Arkitektur is Scandinavian in its nature. With an exploratory approach and focus on the experience of architecture, the essence of the office's work is the search for narrative qualities in strategic, poetic, and communicative architecture.
Several of the office's work is recognized and awarded both nationally and internationally.
