The Thin Gold Line project is the result of the collaboration between Plus Minus, pseudonym of Audric Dandres, pluri awarded designer (A' Design Award Gold, Forbes and more), and his two brothers, Lénaïc and Arnold.
CINEMATIC COLLECTION
The Thin Gold Line: Cinematic Collection is a series of four beautiful ultra minimalist art prints printed in Italy aiming to explore a new artistic concept through cinematic archetypes.
Each art print of this Collection reveals the traces iconic movies left on the collective unconscious by illustrating their essential form though respecting aesthetic and philosophical criteria. Our golden line is the synthesis of the most minimal and artistic shape with the highest possible recognizability.
Our project is all about symbolizing four different meaningful aspects of the opposition between light and darkness through high luminance and color contrast, essential forms and high quality materials.
The shining gold is surely the most striking aspect of the art prints. The bright light that animates the line visually prevails on the deep darkness of the paper and thus, by impressing a living image in the viewer, transcends the natural two-dimensionality of the print.
Finally, The Thin Gold Line is also a technical achievement: the art prints being the largest hot gold foil stamping realization to date, printed on the blackest paper in the world.
