Currently approx. 40 experts from the fields of architecture, urban planning, interior design, graphic design, fine arts and landscape architecture are working at the office of BWM Architekten. The international team’s main fields of activity include planning and buildings within the urban space, enterprise and shop architecture, cultural projects (concepts for museums and exhibition designs) as well as the examination of buildings in the context of the inner city and the monumental protection of post-war modernist buildings.
The projects realized range from large and medium to small: From hotel planning and design to residential buildings, private buildings, loft extensions as well as from cooperative urban planning procedures and fine interior design to precise exhibition designs. One of the office’s core skills is the planning within a central urban setting.
In the past few years several outstanding projects have attracted international attention, for example Hotel Topazz, which has received several prestigious hotel and tourism awards, and the so-called Genussregal in Vogau, an oversized wine rack that has become a supraregional attraction of southern Styria. Also, since its opening in 2011, the 25hours Hotel in Vienna has brought a breath of fresh air to the cityscape. The hotel’s spectacular rooftop terrace and public restaurant soon became two of the city’s popular hotspots
