Helena Dařbujánová is an architect living and working in Prague and Hradec Králové, Czech Republic, who also in her fifties entered design in 2009. And very successfully - she presented her first solo product Lola Woman´s Boudoir at Maison et Objet in Paris at 2012.
And at the same year she launched her own eponymous brand “Helena Dařbujánová”.
In 2014, she opened her own first showroom in Prague. Every year Helena Dařbujánová presents one product or collection of interior furniture and design objects. The inspiration comes often from her family, childhood and songs or poetry.
Above all we should name the Macarons collection - stools, tables and bowls inspired by popular french cookie. The table Birds and Deer Come Here for Water , a piece with poetical name. My Dear floor lamp collection decorated with jewels. Golden Kids sofa which says how much you love your kids. Beautiful and gentle bedroom collection Audrey is all about Roman holiday, the fifties, iconic actress Audrey Hepburn and women. When she designed Oto(wo)man sofa, she was thinking about big men, the co-author of this object is Helena´s son Matyáš Chochola who is a well known czech artist.
The last product launched in 2019 is extraordinary music box Mostly Wine . The saurces of inspiration are english musical adventure fantasy film Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (1968) and the song Have You Seen Zofie? from Helena´s daughter Žofie Dařbujánová.
All furniture is manufactured by the elite of Czech artisans - craftsmen from different regions of the Czech Republic: upholsterers, cabinet makers, tailors, metalworkers, glassblowers, jewelers, sculptors, illustrators.
Record of Helena Dařbujánová as a designer includes six national awards EDIDA (Elle Decor International Design Awards), Furniture item of 2010 award, nomination for the Discovery of the Year Award at Czech Grand Design 2010. She regularly presents her work at international and czech exhibitions as Designblok, Milan Design Week or Maison et Objet.
