DANYÉ was established in 2006 offering unique handcrafted products to the european deco market. It started bringing from Swaziland, Africa, the African Swazi Candles and Gone Rural´s collections, as a partner and exclusif distributor.
In January 2007 DANYÉ exhibits, as the first time, at the Intergift Show, in Madrid. DANYÉ Gallery is opened in Pamplona. The showroom is a lovely setting where DANYÉ products can be seen and purchased.
In February 2008 Cristina Ilzarbe, founder of DANYÉ, takes part in the hispanic-african business women congress, organized by Casa Africa. Throughout 2008 new collections of original African products are added, including big African baskets and small furniture.
In January 2009 DANYÉ exhibits for the first time in the International Deco Trade Show Maison & Objet in Paris, expanding its sales to other European countries, specially France and Italy. Is in Paris, where the new range of Luna African frames is showed for the first time. The exclusif distribution agreement and collaboration between both brands turns into a key strategy for the expansion of these products in Europe.
In September 2009, again at the Trade Show Maison & Objet in Paris, DANYÉ presents its cotton fabrics of great quality with naïf designs created by the bushmen Sun tribes of South Africa.
In 2010 DANYÉ keeps growing in the European market, suggesting also its own designs while continuing to enhance its existing collections with new products.
More and more DANYÉ sells to specifiers, and thanks to that, in 2011 it is selected by Maison&Objet with the label ARCHI.DESIGNER, group of exhibitors that organisation suggests to specialised visitors like architects, consultancies, decorators and designers.
In 2012 DANYÉ continue developing its international market. It launches new collections at Maison&Objet, specially the very contemporary tables and stools made with same fiber as the traditional baskets from Southafrica and Zimbabwe. Also it presents its new floormat with cercles, very succesful among Specifiers.
DANYÉ launched in 2013 the "Memories" collection. In 2014, it launched two really creatif collections in Europe: "The Song of the Weaver" and "Desert Diaries". They become very succesful.
In 2014-2015 the collection "The Song of the Weaver" is exhibited in different places. In january 2015 a selection of few pieces of this collection are showed at the Elizabeth Leriche exhibition "Human Made". In march 2015 we visited the weavers that were the inspiration and the producer of this collection and we showed them the book "Make" related to the exhibition, where these women and the products were published. A great team work.
