Andres Schenker, Michael Salvi & Thomas Weber formed a working partnership in Vienna in 2009. The fact that they have won seven competitions in Austria, Germany and Switzerland within the first 5 years of working together speaks volumes about the successful collaboration between two Swiss and a German architect. The many years of experienced gained in very different kinds of offices make Schenker Salvi Weber into a strong team with a great deal of know how. In their work they are always accompanied by an interest in discourse.

Michael Salvi: “it is important to us to always question the concepts. Each of the three of us has different approaches to work and to the contents. Each of us dares to put critical questions at every phase. Having controversial discussions is very important, if there is no time for this then the quality suffers. We need time to hatch our projects, as it were.”

All the same the output is impressive: the Sillblock housing development in Innsbruck was completed in November 2014, three further projects – the extension to Absam primary school in Tyrol (completion 2016), the headquarters of the Österreichische Post AG, am Rochus, 1030 Vienna (completion 2017), and the Foundation Aarhus Gümlingen Switzerland (completion: 2018) are currently under construction.
