Scott Architects

Scott Architects started as husband and wife working on the design of our home. We loved working with an existing building, an existing site. We sought to create a language, a relationship between old and new, old and site, and new and site. The form evolved from the language of the surroundings, drawing inspiration from the site, its gardens, its textured brick and the light that swept its surfaces. We believed in creating a home, a place to dwell, somewhere where you can be yourself, where you belong. Our buildings, interiors and their external spaces maintain a close connection between the context of the project and the client's requirements. Within the studio we seek to create a strong emphasis on developing an architectural solution to a client's brief through a careful investigation of each project's unique situation – in the poetry of place, the sense of dwelling, the importance of the home. We are designers who create homes, places that give a sense of belonging. We as inhabitants build a relationship with our home and in turn our home builds a relationship with the site and context. Our attention to detail and innovative approach has been recognised by a number of design awards.
