Architecture Republic with offices in Dublin (Ireland)and Lyon (France) operates in the fields of architecture, urbanism and landscape design. We engage with engineers, artists, researchers, policy-makers, and other professionals through research, analysis and cross disciplinary collaboration. We find the seeds of our inspiration in the rich and complex realm of ordinary everyday life. We believe in the social engagement and spatial power of architecture more than its visual or plastic expression. We believe in architecture that creates public spaces and democratic cities. An architecture that revitalizes redefines and strengthens existing buildings and neighbourhoods. We believe in an architectural approach which is pragmatic, sensitive, inventive and innovative in term of space, use, material and technology. In the past few years, Architecture Republic received numerous awards for excellence in architectural design including AAI special mention Awards 2011 for Forwork, in 2010 for The Plastic House and The y=3 Houses housing development and AAI special mention Award 2008 for The Slim House. Architecture republic (in association with SPArq) won 1st prize in the international competition for the design of 5,000,000 sq. ft. Parque de la Cabecera in Rosario, Argentina and was short-listed in the Centre Pier Galway Harbour international competition. Architecture Republic also received a nomination for the prestigious Mies Van Der Rohe Awards in 2011.
