Foldes Architects

The Foldes Architects was grounded by Lászlo Földes in Budapest, in 1994. Ten young architects work in the office. Our projects are both residential (dwelling houses, apartment houses) and public buildings (health centres, churches, museums, schools). Each projects are planned in small teams, 2-3 architects. Conventional architectural modells are such as important for us as the 3D pictures by computers. Our philosophy is to follow “regional directions”, we wish to amplify the houses identity with using natural and local materials like, stone, brick, wood. We basically believe in architecural continuity, however we are open to new ideas. First time in history we built in “LiTraCon” (light transmitting concrete) Áron Losonczi's world famous invention, which has recieved several awards. Tradition plays an important role in our architectural design, not with showing traditional forms and features, but trying to understand deeper layers of our heritage.
