Since 1965, at Julia Marmi we quarry and process the Pietra Piasentina stone. A unique, one of a kind compact natural stone product whose quarries are only in our region in the valleys of the Natisone River in Friuli, Northern Italy. A stone compact and strong, with well-known characteristics of non-freezing, strength, good workability and particularly chromaticity. Features of tones of warm gray with possible red / brownish shades and white veins. It ranges in look with different surfaces from the plane sawcut, polished, honed, flamed to brushed and allows for combinations of the same material. This feature, combined with its performance characteristics, can meet the many design solutions and applications of creative Designers and Architects. The Pietra Piasentina, has been used in both interior and exterior applications which are visible in so many projects in Italy and abroad; the Pinacoteca di Bologna, the walls and floors of the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco, the Shinsegae store in Seoul, the Art Gallery of Toronto, Orient Golf Club in Linkou Taiwan and also many private projects around the world. In quarry we have our first selection of Pietra Piasentina. The first quality material free of defects is transported to our factories to be transformed into "standard sizes" and "custom-made products." The standard size formats are mainly used for interior and exterior flooring and paving for residential private homes, commercial businesses, streets, squares and landscape use for a city. The capability of producing standard, custom sizes and special projects demonstrate the versatility of Pietra Piasentina. In addition, it can be used for stair treads & risers, counter tops, door and window surrounds, garden furniture, sinks, just to mention a few examples.
