Tanju Özelgin founded his own design office named Scala Design in 1987. After that he worked as a cofounder with IN Furniture and founded Parlak Kırmızı with Ertan Binme. He has been carrying on his industrial product designs and interior architectural projects under the name of TO (Tanju Özelgin Studio) since 2005. He has been contributing to the education processes as professor and project advisor as well as taking part at many competitions as jury member, exhibition attender and workshop manager.
