The industrial designer Takahide Sano was born in 1958 in Tokyo. After achieving his diploma in Industrial Design (1976), he worked at the Toshiba Design Centre (1976-1988) specializing in audio-video and TV product design. In 1988 he moved to Italy and began working as a freelance designer. During his first years in Italy he worked at the Bonetto studio and subsequently as assistant to the artist-designer Marcello Morandini, from 1989 to 1993. In 1990 he set up the SANO studio, which has numerous collaborations to its credit, both with Italian and foreign companies.
