After graduating from Hongik University with a degree in Industrial Design, Sukwoo Lee started his career as a product designer at Samsung Electronics and went to the U.S. to work as an industrial designer at the industrial design company of Fuseproject and Teague. From 2008 to 2011, he was a global creative leader and a principal industrial designer at Motorola. In 2011, he set up the industrial design office SWNA and established its own furniture brand Matter & Matter.
Selected as a next generation leader in 2012 by JoongAng Ilbo Korea K-Design, a next Generation Leader by Forbes Korea in 2012 & 2013, a next generation design leader of KIDP (Ministry of Knowledge of Economy) from 2006 to 2007, and a Global Top 10 Design Consultancy (Concept Section) at the 2015 Red Dot Design Award, and appointed as an adjunct professor in the Korea National University of Arts.
