The 12th edition of the international design competition organised by Spanish manufacturers  Andreu World S.A., is once again for designing a table or a chair.

For both, the main material must be beech wood, oak or walnut, also with complementary materials indicated in the competition briefing. The best projects will be judged by a jury made up of professionals from various sectors: Design, Industry, Media and other sectors connected to creative activities.

The designs or models presented must be suitable for mechanical mass production and will also be assessed on the basis of economic criteria, like production cost, ease of transport, and so on.

Like in previous years, the participants can register online through the website. The competition is open to students and professionals of all ages who must participate by sending models and all the requested documentation by using the forms which can be downloaded from the Andreu World website.

The prizes up for grabs are 3,000 Euro for the winner and 1,000 Euro for the second placed design. There will also be four special mentions awarded by a panel of judges who are all professionals in the design field.

The closing date for entries is 10th September 2012.
