The “RIAI London Forum” exhibition and the 2015 “European Copper In Architecture Awards” will be joining the Vision London programme which will be held at Olympia on the 2 and 3 June (2015). Thanks to the Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland (RIAI), visitors to this year’s Vision London exhibition will get the chance to see the very best of Irish design in architecture, construction and craft at the RIAI’s London Forum exhibition.

Part of the London Festival of Architecture, the RIAI London Forum exhibition will be officially launched at the RIAI stand on Tuesday 2 June at 5pm and will showcase what the London Forum believes to the best examples of built and unbuilt projects that RIAI members are working on throughout the UK.

The exhibition will also include a "7Hands" crafts section where the RIAI will display etchings, plates and 14 separate pieces of artwork including glass bowls, a metal chess set and two 6-metre high metal statues.

Shortlisted entries for the 2015 European Copper in Architecture Awards 17 – the biennial celebration of contemporary architecture and a showcase for architects working with copper and its alloys – will also be revealed at Vision London. Created to celebrate the very best architectural design of buildings using copper or copper alloys in roofing, cladding and other architectural elements, the extension of these awards over the last two decades mirrors developments in the use of copper in building design.

This year’s entries include Foster + Partners for Munich’s Lenbachhaus Museum, Staab Architekten for its work on the new Kunstmuseum in Germany and Julien Denis of John McCall Architects for the Hwb Dinbych, multi-purpose community facility in Denbigh, Wales.
